Our Plan

Team 4 is composed of two fourth grade teachers and two high school teachers who teach and enjoy science.

Tammy Barcalow teaches 4th grade in a K-8 district in Lincoln, Illinois. She teaches science to both fourth grade class in the building.
Terri Franklin teaches 9-12 Science at Chester High School in Chester Illinois. General Science, Physical Science, Biology 2 and Advanced Placement Biology are her weekly preps. Chester is on a block 8 schedule.
George Gerrietts teaches 4th grade South Pekin Grade School in South Pekin, Illinois.
Steve Ramsdell teaches 9-12 physical science, environmental science, physics and chemistry in Argenta High School.

We are planning on looking at the use of technology in our districts. We specifically want to look at how technology is being used in science classes. We will focus on topics relevant to our teaching assignments.

Tammy will look at the use of the 5 classroom computers in grades 3-6 in her building. If the teachers use them for science, how?
Terri will explore and catalog all the different kinds and uses of technology used by the science

department in her high school.

George will look at how the computers in the classrooms and in the computer lab are being used for science.
Steve will look at what types of technology is used and find out how the use has affected students. He will also check to see if technology use is increasing time on task.
