Our Project
We will evaluate the extent to which each InTech teaching team training and projects:

  1. benefit students
  2. benefit InTech teachers
  3. benefit non-InTech teachers
Who will need our results?
Jim Paterson, all teachers, parents of InTech students,  administration and the school district

Benefit - what does it mean?
Team 4's definition of benefit:

  • positive results in test scores  (We realize that the InTech Program is too new to see a change in test scores.)
  • positive student and teacher attitudes toward technology
  • evidence of engaged learning and higher level thinking
  • increased technology skills of students and teachers
  • increased technology use by students and teachers

  •

Whom will we address with questions and what questions will we ask?
    About student benefit:
We will ask the teachers about their expectations of InTech and what benefits they expected.
We will also ask the teachers about what they see happening as a result of InTech.
We will ask teachers about the computer literacy of students before and after training.
We would like to poll students about their experiences with InTech.  We will be able to create polls after we talk to the teachers about their expectations.  Because of the different grade levels, more than one poll will need to be created.

    Possible Questions:
Does availability of technology in the classroom increase the quality or quantity of student work?
Does access to the Internet increase students knowledge of other cultures and traditions?
Has it improved attendance and discipline?
    About Inservice:
We will need to look at the computer literacy of teachers before and after training.
We will ask teachers about inservice training and their own technological development.
We will also ask Jim P. about the technological development of the InTech teachers.
    Possible inservice questions:
Has the training changed the way that teachers organize instruction?
Are teachers teaching differently than they did before the training?
    Non-InTech classes:
We will need to talk to Jim P. or another administrator about the effect on non-InTech students.  (Are other teachers wanting to become involved in InTech because of what they have seen this year?)

How will we split the work?
