I grew up in Mt. Zion, Illinois. In the Spring of 1992, I graduated from the University of Illinois. During my Senior Year, I participated in the Year Long Project (YLP) which is a student teaching program that trains teachers through integration of course work and classroom experience. After four summers of commuting to the UIUC, I received a Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction in August, 1998.
I have been a fourth grade teacher since fall of 1993 at Northwest School (home of the Wildcats!) in Lincoln, Illinois. I teach science to both fourth grade classes in my building. I am also the Building Technology Coordinator for my school.
