Basically, Xiao Yu, Bing Pan and me focus on a similar issue- does corporeal university exist ? With similar version of universities, the human factor or social interaction plays in the education cannot be replaced by information technology. We doubt the technology can satisfy human's psychological needs. We all agree that the corporeal universities die hard, however, the roles of universities will be reshaped as a result of emerging technology. Xiao Yu presents us a very good analogy to the future of using information technology--as the first robot came into being, people predict that robots could soon replace all the manpower, which is not true. This analogy addresses technology cannot replace human function completely.
Bonnie Troesken proposes a very important issue of using information technology. I agree with her that information technology is a powerful tool for human only if we use it with plans. Xiao Yu points that technology fetishism could cause isolation of personal relationships. These are very good re-thinking of information technology. After all, human being creates information technology as a tool for us. We have use it carefully or it could brings negative impact of human society.
