Lisa Hood's Vision:
I agree with Lisa in that even though the technology is out there, currently, schools are not utilizing this technology to its fullest potential. In addition, I also agree with her in that the technology should never completely replace the teacher's role in education, especially in the K-12 elementary grades. The direct and physical interaction among students and teachers is necessary for these younger children.
Aimee Smith's Vision:
Aimee's vision of education is also very similar to Lisa Hood's vision of education in 2020. I agree with Aimee in that students still need the direction and assistance from teachers and that education that only includes technology would be disastrous. I also enjoyed how Aimee pointed out the direct link between education and life-long skills necessary to succeed in life. I feel that this is a very important relationship that many schools, educators, etc. tend to forget and ignore. Currently, a great deal of curriculum and instruction is outdated, and therefore, teaching students skills and information that won't benefit them in the future. Teaching students technology skills is indeed something that these students and future leaders of our country will benefit from!
