My opinion of Paula Marcuzzi's vision for Education in 2020

In my opinion Paula did a very good job of presenting a realistic picture of what both primary, secondary, and higher education will look like in the very near future.  She has her ideas laid out in a very good manner.  Again she emphasized that technology in education os a tool for educators to use not a replacement for teachers.

I also agree whole heatedly with her view of what on-line courses should be used for and how they are to be used.  If an employer is sending a person back to school/training it is important that they be allowed time away from work to do the course work.  But a full time working parent may be hard presses to get the time to do the work on-line.  But an on-line course may be a much better way to learn instead of driving 30 or more miles to a college or university one or more nights a week.  But the quality and knowledge transfer and retention is what personally concerns me the most about on-line degrees and training.  There are many things that I have gained by personally going to this university and to classes with instructors who are teaching me in my real time not via technology.  If we all stayed in and did all of our learning in front of a terminal what a boring place we would live in.

Paula also excellently pointed out the need for as she put it "cybrarian's" who will facilitate the ability for educators and learners to learn more prickly the directed information and to keep them current with technology.
