In the beginning of any new stage of my schooling, or applying for jobs, or applying for schools, an essay to introduce myself seemed to be a routine. In order to keep myself and others from getting bored, I always tried to make it sort of unusual, sort of interesting to read. Now, here on the web, everyone seems to have his/her own way to make his/her personal page unusual and interesting. Compare with those creative ones, probably mine is really dull. So, bear with me, read on............
When I was a freshman in undergrad, my piano teacher from my childhood told me this: "Go to countryside and look at one of the girls with 'watermellon' hair, silly smile and a 'knowing nothing' expression. That was you!! You were just like that. But you change so much now!" Well, I think that's still part of me.

I was born in I-Lan, Taiwan. Here are some links about Taiwan.
My parents are both elementary school teachers. Plenty of books, not many toys, playing piano, strict regulations....these are my memories about my childhood. I didn't have many ourdoor activities. Most of the time I buried myself in books. Everyday my mom would drag me from books to the front of piano. Tears often ran down and dropped on the keyboard. But now I'm very thankful to my mom.
Now I am a graduate student in music education, with a focus on general music. My main interests are guided listening skills and computer assisted music instruction. Being interested in something doesn't equal to being an expert in something. I am working hard toward this. But the farther I walk on this road, the less I know..... I wonder if I would be a person knowing nothing when I get my Ph. D?
