Formative Evaluation

Formative evaluation is an evaluation method that focuses on an innovation. In the case of the TTa project, the focus is to develop and modify the TTa model of teacher education. The audience for this type of evaluation is educational researchers in teacher education programs. The purpose of formative evaluation in the TTa project is to improve teacher education. Observations, interviews, and survey instruments have been used to collect data. The results of our evaluations of the TTa project highlight suggested changes both to Teaching Teleapprenticeships at the University of Illinois and to other teacher education programs.
